Happy b-day! When my dad passed my mom wasn't too keen on talking about it. Even now, almost a year later, she still isn't. One thing she did though was give me my choice of photos. I always knew how important photos could be, but I never really cared. I do now.
Wow, at your age, she ought to have bought you come creamed corn and some suspenders, like.
Kidding.
Mostly.
Other than that, though, Moms are great in that way. You sometimes get the impression that they have kicked you out of the nest and that you don't feature much in their day-to-day, but then you get a present like that and you realize that no matter where you go or what you do, you'll still be so important to them.
Happy Birthday! If I had known earlier, I would have timed my letter to arrive today, but oh well. You'll have to settle for belated paper mail wishes :)
Looks like Mom made a lovely and poignant gift choice!
Sounds like you have a great mom. Mine bought me the same bullet space pen several years ago. I lost that one also (still haunts me) but have two others that I carry pretty much everywhere I go. For portability and dependability, you cannot beat a Fisher Space Pen.
Go Mom!!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, you're but a spring chicken. I turn 40 this year. Panic!
ReplyDeleteSounds like your mom knows how to buy gifts. Some moms out there (mine cough cough) are a little challenged in this regard.
Very nice. You never can tell with moms.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
Happy birthday! PS, yer all whippersnappers, I'm 46 :D

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Deek!
ReplyDeleteYour mom does sound awesome.
And I'm going to revel in the fact that I'm still younger than all of you! Ha! :D
Happy birthday, old man!
ReplyDelete(I'm only 30.)
(On the bright side for you, I have hereditary premature gray hair, so I look like I'm about 45 or so.)

Very well said, Mike!
