I find that sometimes the tension adjuster on these doesn't do anything, but if you bend it a bit it becomes effective, and you might like a tighter, snappier feel. Just a thought.
Yeah, it is, but I preferred it over hate. Loathe seems to me that I will still endure the thing, while hate will keep me away. Or so I like to think:)
It's not really the tension that is an issue. It types well and has a decent feel, but I compare everything to my "best" typers e.g. Olympia SG1, Hermes 3000, Olympia SM9, etc. and so far there hasn't been a Smith-Corona under my fingers that has stacked up. I think I've developed an knee-jerk bias against SC's.
But it's okay, I don't hate them, just loathe them:)
Yep. I feel the same way. Maybe I will have to get mine out too.
ReplyDelete"Loathe" is such a strong word!

I can't say I loath the design of the Smith-Coronas of this age, but I do find the bland design a bit boring. I still like them though.
ReplyDeleteI have one on my waiting to be cleaned pile. I don't think I will get to it in time for ITAM.
Is that the well-travelled Clipper that my neffers got to play with? (AM with you on the design lines, but I do like the dark green keys!)
ReplyDeleteYes, this is the same well-traveled Clipper.
