I don't know exactly ho...Oddly, the clock knew. I don't know exactly how it all works, but I believe its an atomic clock so gets set from some sort of timekeeper in the area. Its a great alarm clock and all I've ever had to do is plug it in and it sets itself. Great for time changes and power outages!<br /><br />Very observant, Ted!
