Actually, my wife gives me ample opportunity by typing out recipes she finds on index cards. Oddly, there are not many recipes with a "1/4" of something...
Oho, so that's what happened to it! I was wondering...
It is really stingy of the post office to send back a letter for being 7 cents short on postage... although in Switzerland the post office will put on a stamp to make up the difference, and then send you a bill both for the extra stamp and "handling fees", which you can repay them in stamps... convoluted and expensive for the sender, but at least the letter still leaves on time.
As for the commemorative stamps, I - or your other Swiss penpal :) - should send them back to you - their (used) value is still not too bad!
Now you just need to find a reason to start using the "1/4" symbol!

ReplyDeleteThose stamps are worth more than it says on them? Mad World.
