  1. I used to do this when I was a teenager. Should try it again!

And thanks for your letter, by the way. It will be reciprocated.

  2. When I joined the Letter Writer's Alliance I got access to some cool stuff on their site, including an envelope. I love the idea of using a magazine or newspaper. I just typed a letter but perhaps I'll put off tossing it in the mail until I can make a cool envelope!!

  3. Here is the site I found for letter and envelope folding: http://www.ghh.com/elf/ I spent most of my time looking through all the images and figuring out what I liked. I ended up folding one letter into an envelope and two letters (which as Richard mentioned, looks to be the type of folding used to pass notes in class and the like).

I didn't find anything I really like, meaning that I thought it would survive undamaged. The best I found was a template that I could print out, cut and fold. It would certainly look better with some snazzy paper.

Do make sure you verify your sizes with USPS though. Square envelopes cost more to send and there are minimum and maximum letter sizes you have to meet to use regular postage.

  4. Dude, that is pretty nifty. I need to try folding my own. Remember the guy who drew that typewriter envelope that I posted a couple of weeks ago? He sent me some copies of it and he folded all of them himself. I need to ask him to make more or ask permission to reprint some for the good ol' typosphere.
