  1. Keep at it. I am impressed with your productivity. It is all I can do to even laze around on the internet at the end of the day before falling asleep.

  2. I've been doing something a little different this year. My desk computer, which has normally been left on 24/7 for years, is going to sleep at night. Yup, I've been turning it off each night, so after the kids go down for bed and I come into my office, I have the option of turning my computer on and waiting for a couple minutes or doing some typing.

So far, instant typing has won out!

  3. I've done a version of this...I plugged by cable modem and wireless router into one of those timer switches so it goes off at ten and doesn't turn on again until midnight. Plus, it's way under my entertainment center so it's all but impossible to get at without a huge fuss! Works like a charm.

  4. It amazes me, sometimes, that some of us have to do this. Its similar to the reason I don't by snacks or junk food at the grocery store. If its in the house, I'll eat it. If its not in the house, I won't think about it.

  5. How is the Stieg Larsson book? I've been wondering how that trilogy (right?) is.

Man, that's a great goal with your novel. Keep up the good work!

  6. Thanks for the kind comment yesterday. I don't know why I have suddenly come up with more to write about. I already have two other posts saved. My plan is to wait a few days so I can space them out a little, although your prolificity is inspiring me to maybe write posts more often.

  7. Yup, its a trilogy and I just read the first book, which I am currently finishing, should be coming out as a motion picture at the end of this year.

Without doing any spoilers, I'd say it has been a good read. I can easily sit down and pound out 100 pages without it feeling like I just read 100 pages. The chapters are fairly short and there are a lot of breaks within as Larsson jumps to a different POV, making it easy to feel like you can stop at many points without having to lose your place.

The other thing I can say, is that this first book mixes a lot of genres which I have to believe appeals to a very broad audience. There's corporate financial intrigue, magazine publishing, journalism, murder mystery, family skeletons being dug up, political power moves, court drama, espionage, computer hacking...just a lot of stuff there that is well-written and can appeal to almost any taste in reading.

No problem on the comment and whatever you are doing, keep it up, as I enjoy reading your posts and letters.

I had tried to build up a queue of topics, in order to post daily, but since mine are rather short, topical and usually current, I lost interest in what I thought I was going to want to post in the future...good luck on anything that inspires you to write!
