  3. The biggest factor to keeping things tidy is just keeping my kids out of the room. Once that is done, then I'm really the only one that gets behind my desk. My wife has her own computer pair of computers and workspaces, so there is no reason for anyone but me to be back there.

Rino, yeah, I'm the same way. I took some pictures of my workshop setup a year or so ago, and I may do a little video on that, too. But, I'll wait for it to get a little warmer:)

  4. Oh, how lovely! Great video, very nice to see the space and where you're keeping all the machines. Might steal this idea... or maybe just take a couple of pics of my typewriter storage, ha.

I liked the SM-9 video too, and look forward to others.

  5. Bravo!! I love the multimedia but this one went one step beyond. It's always fun checking out how others situate themselves to create. I have one nagging question though: how do you share an office with your wife?! I mean, I love my wife but I'm more of a lone wolf sort of creative. The only people allowed in my office while I'm working are the voices coming from my iPod, usually Billie Holiday and Old 97s.

    Great job and great Selectric!

  6. In front of your desk are some small cases . . . more typers? p.s. This was FUN, Deek, thanks! I actually will be trying to straighen up my workroom today and this inspires me. Though I am not sure where I will be putting all MY small typer cases in the process. ;-)

  7. Bob, I wish I had a secret for sharing an office, but alas, I don't. The reality is, if my wife is knitting, sewing, crocheting, scrapbooking or catching up on a DVR'd show, then I am downstairs writing with my Lettera on the recliner or the Hermes at the kitchen table!

No, Judith, those aren't more typers in front of my desk. Those are some scrapbooking cases. Some people think the typosphere is weird, but seeing a group of 3 or 4 scrapbookers fully loaded down with wheeled cases and 3-4 shoulder bags, is pretty crazy!

I'm glad you enjoyed the video. The rest of my typers are in the house (Royal QDL in bedroom and downstairs the Lettera and Hermes) or out in my workshop (SM9, SC Silent, SC Galaxie Deluxe & Oliver 9).

  8. That is a nice writing space, man. And what are the chances that I would make a He-Man reference and then find out about the sticker on the Selectric?! That's pretty funny.

  9. Awesome again!
    Masters of the Universe indeed!
I'm pretty sure I'm way too paranoid and self-conscious to do this, but I'm glad you're doing it. Lotta fun, this is.

  10. I will admit that I was a bit self-conscious, especially as I was talking into he camera. I avoided that with a couple of my other videos, but it felt awkward just seeing my fingers and hands.

But, sometimes you have to step outside of your comfort zone and just have some fun, right?
