  1. On Writing is quite good, isn't it? I am not a horror fan but I am a Stephen King fan generally. Smart guy (obviously). I saw him once in Boston walking down the street in a Red Sox hat, being chased by fans.

  2. Yeah, I love it. I can't say that I have ever been a horror fan, but I've always enjoyed his writing (which I can honestly say I've only touched the surface in what I've actually read of his: Shawshank Redemption, Gerald's Game, Bag of Bones, The Green Mile and Cell) and two of my favorite movies are Shawshank Redemption and The Shining.

  3. "On Writing" is my numero uno recommendation for books about the craft of writing.

I like your observation about the actual writing being less painful than the anticipation of writing. Perhaps we need to just trust ourselves a little bit more and not anticipate that (writer's block) which doesn't yet (may not at all) exist. Great post.

  4. I also enjoyed On Writing. The lesson I took from it is that the best way to be a writer is to...write.
