  3. notagin, that is a nice SC Silent. I did put a max bid on it, but was immediately overbid. I would have liked to have had that, but it wasn't meant to be.

Good deal! Let's try and spread the word and during Typewriter Appreciation Month, share pictures and stories on our blogs.

I already just set up one "event", as I am giving a friend one of my typewriters next month. I'll see if I can get him typing out in public!

  4. So, we've got a start with the Four Typesmen spreading the word!

Type-ins, shows of public typing, giving a typewriter, buying a typewriter, writing a letter, posting online or creating flyers for RL display...there's a lot we can do and some of it is just what we do anyways, but a concerted effort to get others aware, is just what we need...

I've got some more work to do...my mind is racing!

  5. How wrong of me was it to just update wikipedia's commerative month list with this?

  6. This is better than what I *thought* we were lining up for (Bovine Love Month?).

I'm just now starting to pick up typecasting again at this point, so I feel I'd better not commit to anything in a public way - in this precarious position it could all come crashing down. But good on you for taking charge.

  8. February is a good month, but I like March better. Why? Well, apart from St. Patrick's day there aren't any major holidays in March. Feb has President's Day and Valentine's Day. I also have a bias becasue the Phoenix Type-In is in March.

  9. I was thinking about that, both the relatively few major holidays and your Type-In. I have a couple biases as well. Around here, NCAA Men's Basketball and March Madness is pretty big, filling out brackets and all of that good stuff. And March in Indiana, we start to get glimpses of warm weather, whereas in February, we are still mainly bunkered down, so giving me another reason to go out, is a good thing.

What I was hoping to find, was a month with nothing going on, in the way of commerative months. February and March were pretty much dead even...so, I suggested February because that is coming up quickly...and I have a birthday next month. Talk about a bias.

  10. Hey, you forgot about APRIL! We got SCRIPT FRENZY!!!!!!!!!

That said, I think March sounds like a nice month. I actually like the idea of February being Bovine Inspiration Appreciation Month.

And no, I'm not just saying March because I just decided to buy myself a typewriter for my birthday.

  11. Ah yes, Script Frenzy.

Haha...Bovines have been quite inspiring as of late!

  12. They totally have. I'm in the middle of writing two more, and I'm liking what it brings out. Telling stories that are very vivid, especially in a sensory manner, in my memory, is making my writing more vivid, something that I need. It's been fun, which is why I'm going to continue it. :) There'll be at least two more coming from me...

And please, don't forget the SF. We've got a proud tradition.

  13. Typewriter appreciation is a good thing, in whatever month. I'll keep track of what's going on and think about how I can contribute. Good idea!
